Experienced Security Systems Service Technician

Who We Are:

We are Girsh Alarm, a premier, family-owned electronic security institution celebrating nearly 50 years of protecting the Greater Philadelphia community. We don’t just pull wires or mount cameras. We protect local homes when families sleep, secure corporate institutions, and safeguard our local schools.

We live by a simple mission: Making our world safer.™

We operate with very few hard and fast rules. Instead, we hire exceptional human beings who share our high ideals, trust them to use their brains, and give them the autonomy to do what they do best.

The "Love It" List (If this is you, you'll thrive here):

The "System Thinker" Mindset: You don’t just swap out broken parts. You look at the whole ecosystem (networks, programming, relays) to diagnose the root cause of a technical issue.
The Heart of a Teacher: You enjoy translating complex IP video, access control, or fire configurations into simple, friendly language so a stressed client feels confident and cared for.
Invisible Craftsmanship: You take pride in the details no one else sees. Your wiring inside an enclosure panel looks like a work of art—neat, organized, and perfectly zip-tied.
Extreme Ownership & Coachability: When you make a mistake, you own it, learn from it, and collaborate with the team to make sure it doesn't happen again. You actively crave learning new modern technologies and cloud platforms.
Philly Pride & Civility: You are always early, neat, clean, even-tempered, and respectful when entering our clients' private homes and secure businesses.

The "Hate It" List (Please do not apply if):

You bring a heavy ego, a cynical attitude, or a short fuse to the job site.
You cut corners, rush through punch lists, or leave a messy workspace behind you.
You operate with a "not my job" mentality or prefer being right over finding a win/win solution.
You refuse to learn modern network- or cloud-based security systems because you prefer “the way I’ve always done it.”
You do not have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

What You Will Do:

Custom-install, program, service, and commission advanced burglar alarms, fire alarms, enterprise access control, and commercial video surveillance systems throughout the Delaware Valley.
Treat our internal team (dispatch, sales, engineering) and external clients with deep respect, civility, and compassion.
Act with a genuine sense of urgency when a life-safety system needs attention.
Actively participate in continuous, company-paid manufacturer training and certification programs to keep your technical edge sharp.

What We Offer:

A Culture of Autonomy: If you make a mistake on a job site, we don't write a new rulebook. We support you, investigate the cause together, and give you the power to make the client's apology "tangible and sweet."
A Happy Work Environment:

An atmosphere where egos are checked at the door, achievements are publicly celebrated, and team members genuinely look out for each other.

Top-Tier Compensation & Tools: Competitive hourly pay/salary, a well-organized company vehicle, modern tools, excellent healthcare benefits, and a matching retirement plan.
Stability: A rock-solid, multi-decade legacy in the Philadelphia area with zero shortage of premium work.

How to Apply:

We hire for character and train for skill. If you have years of low-voltage experience, fantastic. If you have an IT/networking background or military training and a strong desire to learn the security trade, we want to hear from you too.

Skip the generic cover letter. Instead, send us your resume along with a quick message telling us about a time you went wildly out of your way to help a teammate or solve an incredibly frustrating problem for a client.
