Aloha! Nephrology Opportunity on Maui (2026) and Kauai (2027)
Island Kidney Care (IKC) is seeking a full-time nephrologist to join our team on the beautiful island of Maui, Hawaii in 2026, with a second opening for their Kauai location in 2027. IKC is a division of Northwest Renal Clinic (NWRC)—a respected, physician-led practice of 27 nephrologists based in Portland, Oregon, with more than 40 years of experience providing comprehensive renal care. This structure gives you the best of both worlds—the autonomy and lifestyle of practicing on Maui or Kauai, backed by the resources and stability of a larger, well-established group.
IKC currently includes four physicians and three advanced practice providers serving patients across three Hawaiian islands—Maui, Kauai, and the Island of Hawaii. We welcome both new graduates and experienced nephrologists to explore this extraordinary opportunity to live and work in one of the most stunning and rewarding locations in the world.
Practice Highlights (Maui)
- 4-day work week
- One weekend of call per month
- Immediate and established patient base
- Coverage at 1 hospital and 2 dialysis centers
- Generous compensation package
- Paid family health and dental insurance
- 6 weeks’ vacation - year 1
- Relocation assistance
- 401(k) match and profit sharing
- Partnership track
- Option to transfer to the mainland (Portland, OR) after commitment period
- J-1 visa sponsorship available
Practice Highlights (Kauai)
- 4-day work week
- Immediate and established patient base
- Primarily outpatient schedule
- Very low inpatient census at 1 hospital
- No weekend call coverage
- Generous compensation package
- Paid family health and dental insurance
- 6 weeks’ vacation - year 1
- Relocation assistance
- 401(k) match and profit sharing
- Partnership track
- Option to transfer to the mainland (Portland, OR) after commitment period
*Preference for a nephrologist with experience
Candidate Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an accredited residency and fellowship in nephrology
- BC/BE in Nephrology
- Licensed (or able to obtain a license) in Hawaii
- Willingness to make a minimum 3-year commitment to the practice and community
