Description
ICT Technician - ($30 to $40 per hour)
SBI is seeking an ICT Technician who loves IT and takes pride in clean, precision installations. This role involves installing terminating, testing and troubleshooting various Information and Communications Technology, to include but not limited to, racks, cabinets, fiber optic cabling, copper cabling, organizing servers, switches, and related equipment in data centers and commercial network environments.
Key Responsibilities
Rack, mount, and secure servers, switches, and related hardware
Run, dress, terminate, and label copper and fiber cabling
Connect power, PDUs, and network equipment following standards
Execute equipment cutovers and infrastructure migrations, including planned transitions of live network and IT equipment, requiring a seasoned technician familiar with data
center environments, sequencing, rollback planning, and minimizing downtime
Verify equipment, documentation, and rack layouts
Assist with basic hardware troubleshooting
Maintain clean, organized, and compliant installation spaces
Conditions of Employment
Must live in the United States, specifically the Central Florida area
Must possess a valid US Employment Authorization Document (EAD), be a U.S. citizen, have a valid Social Security number, and be at least 18 years old (U.S. citizens eligible)
Must be willing to travel throughout the Continental United States
Must successfully complete a drug screening and comprehensive background investigation
Must demonstrate accountability and maintain a safe driving record
Uniform Requirements
PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
Work approved gloves and ear plugs
Steeltoe boots (6 inches above heel)
OSHA approved safety glasses and hard hat
Qualifications
Experience with hardware installation or low voltage/IT field work
Familiarity with servers, switches, cabling, and hand tools
Ability to read rack elevations and wiring diagrams
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Able to lift up to 50lbs and work in datacenter environments
Genuine enthusiasm for technology and IT infrastructure
