About the Role:
American Cabling Company is looking for a dedicated and reliable Security Technician to join our 3rd shift team in Dulles, VA. Hours:10:30 pm - 6:30 am Tues - Sat 40 Hours.
Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot security systems including access control, CCTV, and alarm systems
- Perform overnight inspections and preventative maintenance on security infrastructure
- Run and terminate low-voltage cabling for security and surveillance equipment
- Respond to system alerts and resolve technical issues in a timely manner
- Coordinate with team leads and project managers to ensure job site completion on schedule
- Document work performed, materials used, and any system irregularities
- Ensure all installations meet NEC, local codes, and company quality standards
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in security systems installation or low-voltage cabling
- Familiarity with access control, IP cameras, and intrusion detection systems
- Ability to work 3rd shift (overnight) hours reliably and consistently
- Low-voltage or security technician license/certification preferred (ESA, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a field environment
- Ability to pass a background check and meet security clearance requirements if applicable
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
